About Us

BRENT OPERA was founded in 1921, and its performances have continued annually without a break for eighty-four years.

Originally an evening class named ‘The Kilburn Polytechnic Vocal Music Class’ and later ‘Willesden Operatic Society’, BRENT OPERA settled on its present name in 1990.

In 1998 the company changed its main performing venue from Brent Town Hall to St. Andrew’s Church in West Hampstead, where it also rehearses.

BRENT OPERA puts on two fully staged, costumed productions a year. In the summer the company peforms an Operetta or Operatic excerpts. and in the winter a complete opera. Both seasons run for four evenings, and are double cast.

The company also holds regular social evenings.
